Travel: Deep Nature Spa- Avoriaz France

Whilst we were away in France I had a break from the kids and the thick snow proof layers and booked a spa morning in Avoriaz. Myself and the other three ladies left the kids with their daddies and headed to the Deep Nature Spa. We went on our penultimate day so we could really make the most of our relaxation morning.

A Swiss Christmas #ExpediaWorldOnAPlate

I’m always interested in learning about how other countries do things, and as Christmas is such a special time of the year it makes it even more fun to learn about how it’s done elsewhere. Expedia recently challenged me to pick a country and make a traditional Christmas Meal, and seeing as we’re flying into Switzerland in January I thought it would be nice to see what they get up to! So after perusing a few different websites I came to the conclusion their traditional Christmas meal is either Turkey…

Family Travel plans for 2016

Next year will be our first full year as a family of four, and will hopefully be the year we move into our first home that we own rather than rent. For that reason we really do need to think carefully about our travel plans so that they don’t get too out of hand and bankrupt us! We already have a holiday booked and paid for at the end of January, we’ll be spending a week in the French Alps in Morzine. We’re flying out to Switzerland then travelling into France…

Days Out: London Eye & Kensington Palace

Last Sunday we had the most perfect family day out in London doing touristy things! My love for London is well known but there are still more than a few attractions I’ve not visited, but now I can tick another two off my list thanks to 365 Tickets! According to my mum I turned down the chance to go on the London Eye (then called the Millennium Eye) for my 16th Birthday! What was I thinking? Moody teenager apparently… but I love getting a birds-eye view of anywhere and Sam…

London with the kids

We’re off to London next weekend for a family day out, we’re going to experience the London Eye and then spend the day exploring Kensington Palace (please cross your fingers for nice weather for us!) I’ve said before on my blog that I love London, I can’t pinpoint why exactly though, perhaps because I was born there or perhaps because I can leave the hustle and hubbub behind at the end of the day and return to the South Coast! I’ve always been interested in the history, how it grew and…

Travel: A day out in Hastings

Last Sunday we spent the day in Hastings being tourists! We hadn’t had a family day out a while and Hastings is about an hour drive from us, long enough to not go very often but not so far that the journey is unbearable with two children! Hastings is a seaside town in East Sussex and is the heart of 1066 Country, close to the site of the Battle of 1066. Is it just me who gets weirded out with just how long ago that was? I try and imagine…

Wanderlust: Cornwall

We’ve only been to Cornwall once for a holiday and it was about four weeks before I had Athena. Therefore my energy levels weren’t that high and there were a few things we chose not to do, although climbing all the steps up to the top of Tintagel Castle wasn’t one of them! The lady selling tickets even asked me not to go into labour up there or we’d need a helicopter to get off! We’d like to go back to cornwall with the children at some point, because there…

I’m going Skiing!

Anyone who was reading my blog at the start of the year may remember me mentioning that Sam went off on a ‘lads holiday’ to Morzine in France for a snowy holiday, where he broke his elbow on the first day snowboarding! Well somehow he has persuaded me to go next year with him! In fact I didn’t need much persuading as this one isn’t a lads holiday and it will be us and two more families who we know really well. Also if I didn’t go it would mean…

Bluestone – Activities

You could quite happily spend your time at Bluestone exploring the outside areas, the nature walks and the lakes but there is a lot more to do experience on top of that! (Read the first part of our Bluestone experience here if you missed it!) The Adventure Centre: soft play, mini golf, bouncy castle, Lego area, arcade games, separate kids play rooms like the Circus Room, wall climbing, rope swinging and loads more! There is also a lovely cafe that serves a buffet breakfast and snacks and drinks throughout the…

Travel: Bluestone Wales

Last week we spent five lovely days at Bluestone in Wales. If you’re not familiar with them then think mountains, peacefulness, family friendly and lovely lodges and you’ll be half way there! I’ll freely admit that I was a little sceptical about what to expect from our ‘free range’ holiday at Bluestone. I’d read a few other blog reviews and thought perhaps people were seeing their holidays through rose tinted glasses as it was a review but now I’m home and starting to write this I really do think it’s…

Bluestone: What I’m looking forward to

In just under two weeks time I will be heading off to Bluestone Resort in Wales, with Sam and the babies (I will stop referring to Athena as a baby when she hits 2… maybe!) and our lovely good friends and their daughter too. I cannot WAIT! A few people have likened maternity leae to holiday, not these last few weeks that’s for sure! A change of scenery will do us good, and Athena will be over the moon to spend a whole week with her daddy, who is clearly…
