Sunday Scrapbook – Tonsils & Halloween

I’m finally getting a chance to get my laptop on, it’s currently Sunday lunchtime and I’ve sent the kids to their room with their tablets and some left over Halloween biscuits so I can get some peace. I’ve got tonsillitis again so don’t feel like going out in the cold as I have no energy to chase them around nor to shout them back to me when they inevitably run off faster than I can get to them! Sam is off snowboarding this weekend with friends, so it’s just been the sproglets and I since early Friday morning, he’s due back tonight but is working a night shift at 11. Arlo has been waking up incredibly early for the last few days – he was in at 4.50am today and…

Sunday Scrapbook – What we got up to in Half Term

Ahhh, Half term is over and we’re back to normality tomorrow with school runs and swimming lessons! The week has gone so fast but that’s probably because we stuffed it full of fun, friends and time outdoors. The kids have mostly worn their spookiest clothes for the week too, which has been fun! Last Saturday the kids and I headed into town, saw a brass band, looked round the museum and had pudding for lunch at Kaspas with friends. On Sunday we went for a long country walk, picked up some pumpkins from Slindon Pumpkins as we do every year, although as I write this a week later they’re still sat in a tower in our bathroom on top of the giant pumpkin that Sam was given by one of…

Sunday Scrapbook – Unexplained Exhaustion

No proper recappy post this week – it was just a week of school pick ups, drop offs, and numerous after school clubs. It culminated in the kids being asleep before 6pm on Friday night and me nodding off on the sofa about 10 minutes after I put them to bed! But then yesterday I had no energy to get going in the morning, and then when we got home from an afternoon out I fell asleep again for almost two hours – leaving the kids to fend for themselves! I don’t think they even realised I was asleep actually as they were chilling out in front of the telly! I’m not sure if it’s a case of the holidays utterly exhausting me, the slight cold that I can’t get…

Sunday Scrapbook – Zippos Circus, Firle Vintage Fair & Swimming

We had a pretty busy week this week, with daily swimming lessons for both children every afternoon. We signed them up to an intensive course at a little local pool just up the road and I am so glad we did as they’ve both come on loads in just a week – when they started they couldn’t swim at all and they can both now swim with a float and are confident in putting their head in the water, a few different strokes and are happily jumping in the water. We’ve signed them both up for lessons starting in term time to see how they get on, though we do want to go swimming as a family a lot more too! On Sunday I took my mum and the kids…

Sunday Scrapbook – Cycling a four person bike & being a teacher!

We’re half way through the Summer holidays! This past week has been the first week we were at home all week too and it was so nice to just catch up on the washing, the post, and enjoy being at home a bit! We have been out and about of course – picking the two days it rained of course, sods law! It was pretty nice to stick jeans and wellies on though for the first time in forever! Here’s this weeks vlog if you fancy a watch:   If you watched my instagram stories at all this week you’ll have seen us cycling this weird bike/tuk tuk hybrid along the seafront, which was fun but pretty hard on the old legs! There is a guy hiring them out this…

Sunday Scrapbook | Vlog – Boating on the Broads & Mazes

We’re up in Norfolk at the moment, and I can’t believe one week of the holidays have gone already! We’re having a lovely time apart from all being too hot almost all the time. The rain when it arrived on Friday night was definitely welcome, and the cooler temperatures are much more comfortable. I find it so funny how so many people whinge about it not being warm enough in the summer and now we’re practically living in the Sahara and nobody can cope! I wouldn’t mind so much had we not had a six hour road trip on Wednesday with no a/c in the car – boo! It’s actually raining at the moment so I am catching up on some work and letting the kids entertain themselves but we’re going…

Sunday Scrapbook (on a Monday)

It’s been a funny old week, and it’s gone so fast too! I keep meaning to write a Sunday Scrapbook post but Sundays jut seem to fly past, and I am always so exhausted by the afternoon that I end up napping instead of writing! Last weekend the kids and I went to the pub with friends to spend an afternoon in the beer garden which was lovely, but this Sunday after a bit of a lie in (well, 8am!) and a little trip to the sailing club we drove to a farm shop to pick up some picnic bits. Then instead of stopping in the woods for a picnic which was the original plan, Sam decided to lead us on a wild goose chase to find a pub that…
