Sunday Scrapbook – Steam Trains and Castles

I’ve got the lurgy (aka a cold, I just like to be dramatic) so it’s a short post from me as it’s almost 8pm and therefore time for bed! This past week was half term for us here down south, though we do have another day off tomorrow for an ‘insect’ day as Athena and most of her classmates call it. Sam turned 30 last weekend, and we celebrated by heading to Kent for a night in a hotel, where Sam’s mum met us too. We spent his birthday on…

Sunday Scrapbook – A week apart and a bit of snow

Hurrah! The slowest week ever has ended, Sams home from snowboarding and it’s his birthday today! I’m typing this from the car as we’re on our way to Kent for the night, Sam’s mum is meeting us in Tunbridge Wells, we’ve booked a train trip with characters from PJ Masks later as a surprise for the kids then we’re heading to a castle tomorrow for a day out. Sam’s shifts mean he’s not at home every morning and evening like a ‘9-5’ worker would be so I spend a lot…

Sunday Scrapbook – Theatre, Good Doctors & Oils

I thought I’d join back in with #LittleLoves again, mainly because having categories to write about will help by sleep deprived brain. Arlo has a cold so has been waking up a lot in the night and then getting up pre 6am most mornings too! I also braved Brighton on a Saturday with both kids and no buggy for Arlo, who is a bit of a runner. We made it out unscathed though, even through the crowd control at the station and onto a train home! I published two posts…

Sunday Scrapbook – Feeling Festive & Panto!

We’ve been properly getting into the swing of Christmassy this week! We put up our tree, made mince tarts, went to a panto and did some Christmas crafts! Aren’t these little Christmas trees cute? They’re so easy to make too! Vision Direct have made a downloadable template and you just need to cut out two tree shapes per tree and get decorating! I cut round my tree shapes, placed them on my cardboard box and then cut them out, for each pair of trees I cut a slit in the top…

Sunday Scrapbook – Mice at the Theatre

Another week of this year has shot by, this one on a blur of feeling dreadful and sleeping pretty much! We had a lovely day at Marwell last Saturday (here’s a video) but last Sunday I woke up feeling a bit rough and ended it with a fever in bed by 6pm. I’d fallen asleep with the kids for an afternoon nap and when I woke up I was practically delirious, boiling hot one moment then sweating and shivering the next. Turns out it was tonsillitis and I managed to…

Sunday Scrapbook – Winter Wonderland

I’ve been a bit sporadic with my ‘Sunday Scrapbook’ posts because some weeks there really isn’t much to report, school runs, late nights and early morning Arlo-shaped alarm clocks. But the past couple of weeks have been pretty busy, another trip to London for me for a day at Youtube HQ learning some tips and tecnhiques to make better videos, which came at the perfect time as Sam and I had decided that we want to make a weekly video to capture our memories in a more visual way in…

Sunday Scrapbook – Glumness & New Friends

This week has been HECTIC I tell thee! Lots of late nights, a bit of falling asleep on the sofa and waking up stiff, freezing and disorientated at 4.30 in the morning, a trip to London & being custodian of the school class bear for a day. His name is Dave and he needs a good wash. I’ve been so busy trying to juggle the groundhog day-like school associated activities like the drop offs/pick ups, dress like a sodding bear day, fill out the home-school book, listen to reading, money…

Sunday Scrapbook: Half Term, Mister Maker & Baking

Our half term break has been lovely, I’ve loved having Athena around more even if it’s meant that I’ve had to work every evening to replace the days I would have been working but it was worth it! We had a couple of little naps together, and I even managed to put both kids to bed for a nap in the day a record three times! I mean I paid for it when Arlo spent hours trying not to go to sleep in the evenings but hey ho! Monday saw…

Sunday Scrapbook – Trains & Trees & Six Weeks of School done!

This last week has been a testing one – but we survived! I got back from my holiday last weekend and it quickly felt like a) I’d never been away and b) I needed another holiday to recover from being back to the daily grind. But we survived! It was the last week of the first half of the school term for Athena, which means we are now enjoying our half term break! To celebrate the end of school we headed to the Firework display at a local junior school,…

Sunday Scrapbook – New Videos & Eyes

So a brief post as I’m currently on holiday, and spent the last week either writhing in agony with my poor eyes or attempting to get everything sorted for going away (and going away without the kids and husband is more stressful I think as was trying to prep them for a week without me!) Anyway the stress and a cold made my blimming eyes flare up so I eventually went to see an optician who said “Well it’ll never go away, Blepharitis is a chronic condition” so that’s great.…

Sunday Scrapbook – Cool Cars & Eyebrows

Last weekend we spent the day strolling around Horsham for ‘AmeriCARna’ which was actually a lot of fun! Horsham is a pretty sweet little town, neither of us had been there before! It was packed full of gorgeous huge old american cars, bikes and trucks and the kids loved it, as did we actually! Some of the american cars are HUGE, I would have a nightmare trying to parallel park them!   After a lunch of waffle-on-a-stick (the kids, plus some actual healthy food) and a bloody delicious Hog Roast…

Sunday Scrapbook on a Monday

The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind, so I didn’t manage a Sunday Scrapbook last week and this one is a day late… almost two! So Athena is now at school, she’s loving it though has turned into a little moody-madam at times! She starts full days as of Thursday this week, with her first ‘school dinner’ experience on Wednesday. If you could all send positive vibes that a) she actually eats the food they offer her and b) she doesn’t drop tomato sauce down her brand new…
