Style: Kids Winter Warmers

Last week I shared a ‘winter warmer’ wishlist for myself, so I thought I better get started working on the kids winter wardrobe too! At the moment the kids are knocking about in trainers still but I know it’s only a matter of weeks till it’ll cold enough for boots, thick coats and woolly hats! I found both these pom pom hats (and the matching scarf) at Tesco, and it’d be rude not to get an ‘A’ initial hat for Arlo, right? In fact the wellies and boots are both from Tesco too! Athena adores anything sparkly, and I think the chelsea boots would look great with some knees high socks, and the rainbow wellies would look good with anything! Arlo is pretty obsessed with wellies all year round, but…

Style: My Mum Uniform

I’ve spent a while honing my mum uniform, and though I want to edge towards more dresses at some point, but at the moment it’s a skinny jeans with a lot of stretch, a jumper and a pair of flip flops. However the temperatures are rapidly decreasing and especially at 8.15 in the morning it is a bit too chilly for my trusty flip flops! Thankfully I have new pair of boots from JD Williams that add a bit of fun to my often boring ‘uniform’ in the form of these leopard print beauties! They’re flat and comfy and come in a couple of different width fittings too. They’re also slip on which is a godsend when you’ve got a toddler under one arm, and book bag and water-bottle under…

Style: Yoga wear with Asquith

Now Athena is at school and Arlo with the childminder three days a week I am really hoping to carve out some time for myself  during the week. I’ve not done any proper exercise other than the odd swim or long woodland walk since Athena was born and shes now four! Having two kids in under two years has definitely changed my body as I didn’t really watch what I ate or look after myself at all. But now I want to change that! Realistically I know it would be a lot of hard work to get back to the size 10 I was on my wedding day at three months pregnant but its an end goal! At the moment I’m a 14 in most clothes, and although I know…

Style: RayBan Wayfarers from Ottica

I go though sunglasses like there’s no tomorrow. They either get lost, scratched or pulled apart by the kids. Till now it’s not mattered that much as they’ve all been cheap pairs but now I am taking much better care of a pair of new Wayfarers from RayBan. I was planning to get a new pair of sunnies to take to Israel on October so when I was asked to choose a pair from the range at Ottica RayBans seemed like a good idea! I can’t get on with sunnies that have the little plastic and metal nose bits, as I spend as much time with them on my head as on my eyes, and those plastic whatsits always pull my hair! Also choosing the size of glasses was a…

A charming bracelet from Charmworks

I wrote last week about my first year as being a mum of two, and how different it was transitioning from one to two children. As a way of celebrating my first year as a mum to two Charmworks very kindly sent me a personalised charm bracelet. A charm bracelet is something that is incredibly individual to a person, something completely unique and special to them and I am over the moon to have my own now, and I’m already looking forward to adding charms to it in the future!

Summer dresses and Mama Jewels

We live in a first floor flat so have no garden of our own but thankfully have have a nice little communal garden that nobody else uses! The gardener comes every week to mown the lawn and  sort out the flowers and shrubbery so it’s a lovely space to chill out in and enjoy being outside without having to go too far! This last weekend we’ve spent time out there three days on the trot and it’s been so nice! Sam has been faffing around doing ‘muscle memory’ for snowboarding and I’ve been chatting to Arlo and helping Athena learn to use her scooter! As I was wearing a new dress I thought I’d get Sam to snap some photos too! I love shirt dresses as they’re so easy to…

Brightons Best: Posh Totty Designs

On Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited along to the Posh Totty ‘posh party’ & what a party it was! Cocktails in mason jars with stripy straws, tasty treats both savoury and sweet and jewellery so gorgeous I didn’t know where to start looking first. On top of that a stylish shop, clean simple and well laid out with a passionate team of clearly talented people to chat to. The perfect Thursday night.    Posh Totty started in 2004 and have recently opened their new premises on Sydney Street in the North Laine. All their jewellery is hand crafted in Brighton and made to order. You can find out about the back story here (and the origins of the name!) There are so many gorgeous things too choose from,…
