Me and Mine in August 2018

Despite spending the vast majority of the month together we’ve not managed to take a sensible family photo this month on any of our many days out and weekends away, ce la vie! So I give you two selfies, one from our day out at Chessington and one at The Big Feastival, and also a photo of us all wearing masks at London Zoo. I think these pictures sum our month of fun pretty well to be fair, and we were too busy having fun to take a tripod somewhere and set up a proper shot! Sam is: Enjoying being a driving instructor! Playing LOTS of a game on his playstation that I can’t remember the name of. [I asked, it’s The Division] enjoying reading the kids their bedtime story. This…

Me and Mine in July 18

July has been a lovely month for us, but so busy too. The end of the school term, my pre-holiday panics about anything and everything (packing for this holiday, the fact that we’re away on the next one the day after we get back, how am I going to get work done with kids at home…) and Sam starting up his new driving school business – two self employed people – eek! We’re up in Norfolk at the moment, so our photos were taken last night in Digby’s garden (Digby is what the kids call Sam’s mum – no idea why!) and it’s actually the first time we’ve seen Sam for a few days as he’s been sailing and messing about with boats on the Broads. We’ve been keeping busy…

Me and Mine in June 18

Just the one photo to share for this month as although I thought the month was shooting by I didn’t actually get my bum in gear to take a photo until a couple of days ago! We spent one afternoon after school last week at the park and had a picnic tea with friends, and my friend’s daughter took this one for us! Complete with the little old man playing bowls on his own in the background! This month Sam has been full speed ahead with his driving instructor training and should be able to start his franchise next month, but I think the thing he has been most excited about is the sailing he’s been doing! He’s signed us up for family membership and we spent Fathers Day at…

Me and Mine – May 18

May was a weird month, both Sam and I were away for bits of it, me once and he twice, and because it’s been so disjointed I feel like I can’t really remember much of what happened! These photos were taken by my friend Amy, as my camera has been sent off for repair because the camera no longer recognised the lens – bit of a bummer really! Anyway, this was us this past weekend on our camping trip in the New Forest (you can read the blog post about it here and watch the video here should you wish) and we had a lovely time. The kids were exhausted by the end of the weekend, on the last night Arlo even asked if it was bed time and asked…

Me and Mine in April 18

Oh April, you lived up to your name that’s for sure! Showers and torrential rain were pretty much weekly occurrences! We had a pretty nice April though, all things considered though it would have been way better had we all not got sick, poor Arlo for two weeks!) We spent the first week of April in Wales, exploring Castles and walking around waterfalls – I have finally finished editing all the photos so at some point I will get a little post up for each of the fun things we did! The castle where we took our ‘Me and Mine’ snap is Powis Castle and was so lovely, the grounds were just amazing! This month I have been: Stressed – it’s hard to fit in all my work around the kids…

Me and Mine in March 2018

Trust me when I say this is the very best of a very bad bunch! It was taken on Mother’s Day, so right at the start of the month. We’d been staying at Caalm Camp in Dorset for the weekend and took a trip to Wardour Castle on the way home. Arlo spent the whole time disappearing up crumbling stair cases and into small holes, Athena had tripped up some steps and smacked her chin and all the other families looked a lot more peaceful (and well behaved) than ours! Oh well, comparison is the thief of joy and all that! This month has gone pretty quickly to me, but we’ve not actually done very much in between the first weekend (glamping!) and last weekend when we went to see World…

Me and Mine in February

I am irritated at myself for not getting us out int he snow for a family photo this month, as all of last year we managed to get nice outdoor photos for our monthly photo project, but alas February and it’s 28 days got the better of me, as did another bout of tonsillitis (which explains my strained smile and puffy face) So here we are, on the sofa, where admittedly we’ve spending a lot of time this month! This month I have been reading a lot and sleeping more, which means I am a bit more with it but have been blogging less, swings and roundabouts eh? I got the tell tale achey throat and glands on Sunday night and boom, tonsils strike again! This month I finishes two…
