My Makeup bag for a Weekend Away

A little while ago I was tagged by Joanne (she blogs at Opposable Thumbs) to share the contents of my makeup bag. Now this isn’t my everyday makeup bag but rather my ‘weekend away essentials’ though in fairness it this is what’s on my face most of the time, a lot of what is in my makeup collection at home doesn’t get much use! The makeup bag itself is one that I bought myself with a John Lewis voucher that my mum gave me for Christmas, and it was £14 and meant I could fling out the two old makeup bags that I’d been using in rotation for longer than I’d care to admit. Also this one is slightly padded and wipe clean on the outside, bonus! Here’s what I…

Blog takeover: Quick and Easy makeup for tired mamas

Hi everyone, My name’s Adele-Marie and I run a little beauty & lifestyle blog over at One Girls Obsession With Makeup. I thought I would share today my favourite products to use when I’m in a pinch for time and I need to get ready quickly. I have to get up at 2.30am some mornings for my job so this definitely helps me out and I know some yummy mummy’s will be able to relate to it as well. So hopefully this might give some of you an idea of how to feel better without piling on the makeup!

The Body Shop #SummerEdit

My love for the Body Shop goes way back, Twenty years or so back in fact! I grew up in a village really close to the Body Shop HQ in Littlehampton and my mum took me on the factory tour a few times as well as numerous visits to the ‘Trading Post’ which was an on site shop selling end of lines and discounted stock. Needless to say I have fond memories of the tour, you got ferried around in little land trains, saw bananas being squished and learnt a lot about the world that provided all the amazing ingredients that went into the products. Between my ma and I we had several cotton tote bags and I had a few T shirts too! So when I was invited to…

Win a Personalised Makeup bag with Photo Panda [ended]

Please tell me I’m not the  only one who flings things into bags willy-nilly and then can’t find them again? I was getting so fed up rooting around in the bottom of my handbag or changing bag to find what I needed that I decided to be a little more organised and keep things in separate little bags, and this one is super special because it has one of our wedding photos on it! Photo Panda have a range of items that you can personalise with your own photo, but I chose the medium sized make-up bag (although it doesn’t have to be just for make-up of course, it would make an awesome pencil case for example!) and after deliberating for a while decided on a wedding photo to print…

Green People Organic Beauty

Last Friday I spent a lovely evening with some fellow Brighton bloggers and Amy and Poppy from Green People. They’d got us all together to talk about their newly launched makeup products and to showcase some of their best sellers too, along with some AMAZING smelling Christmas gifts, it is after all less than three months away! Green People create organic beauty and skin care products for the whole family, and has been going for 17 years now! It was founded after Charlotte couldn’t find any natural products on the market to help treat her daughters eczema, so started looking into creating her own products! Having gone from strength to strength over the years their products are packed with over 90% active natural and organic ingredients to protect, nourish and…

Sleek Vintage Romance palette

I bought this last week with my Superdrug points, as I don’t actually need any more palettes (I have all the Sleek Palettes apart from the neon one, and i’m sure it’s only 80’s themed hen parties that buy that one…) but I figured spending points isn’t real money! Guess which one was taken with my phones beauty function…where’d my freckles go!? It’s full of lovely autumnal shades, although annoyingly no matt black, which I like to use as eyeliner so really like the fact it appears in the majority of their palettes, although there is sparkly black for more glamorous  occasions.  There is a Navy which could work well as a liner, and compliments my eye colour. The shades are called unnecessarily long names, but for the look…

Lancôme hypnose drama vs Max factor false lash effect

MaxFactor False lase effect – £10.99 for 13ml or £8.39 per 10ml. A chunky rubbery rounded brush.   Lancôme Hypnose Drama – £22 for 6.5ml, or £33.85 per 10ml. A curved brush with fine bristles. I am a dedicated hypnose drama user. It might be pricey but bloody hell does it produce thick black lashes! I once bought regular hypnose when drama was out of stock and regretted it a bit, I had to use more coats to get the same effect and ended up with crispy lashes. My tube is starting to dry up a little now so I thought I should try a cheaper alternative as maternity pay does not many hypnose dramas buy… I went for the Max Factor as there was an offer on and…
