Scrapbook Loves – October 18

I’m back with another ‘Little Loves’ post, which is a round up of the things I’ve been loving (or perhaps not loving!) over the past month! Read This month I’ve read less books than normal as half term craziness meant I barely had time to sit down let alone read much! I listened to Lily Allen’s autobiography on the drive back from the lake district, but as it’s a book I’m sticking it in this section! I rarely read autobiographies but she read it herself which I thought was ace, and it’s a really interesting look at how becoming famous from a young(ish) age and having not particularly interested parents can really affect your future. She seems more or less sorted mentally now so I hope it stays that way!…

Scrapbook Loves – September 2018

A very quick ‘Little Loves’ post from me as I am running out of time to get everything done before I go away in a couple of days! I didn’t want to miss Septembers update out completely though as I love looking back on them! Read I read the seven books below this month, a bit of a variety of genres and themes though! The two CS Quinn books are historical fiction based in the 1600s London, in the plague and the Fire of London era, well, one novel is set in each of these periods. Long but enjoyable. I thought The Lido was very schmaltzy and predictable with so much description you forgot what you were meant to be reading! Clock Dance was good, but The Couple Next Door…

Scrapbook Loves – August 18

Blimming heck, August literally just started and suddenly it’s over! I’ve managed to pack a lot into it, apart from sleep! We did two festivals, starting August at Chilled in a Field and then the Bank Holiday weekend at The Big Feastival. We also did day trips to London Zoo and Chessington, plus lots of seeing friends. Annoyingly Athena came down with some sort of V&D bug and hasn’t been herself for a few days, she’s just been napping and chilling on the sofa so we’ve had a few days at home recently but to be honest it’s been quite nice to just hang out at home (and it means I’m tackling laundry mountain finally!) So here’s my August ‘Little Loves’…   Read I read nine books this month (see my…

Scrapbook Loves – July 18

It’s been a pretty good month for me, lots of freelance work as well as two little holidays! The first was a camping trip to Kent (you can see our camping set up here) and then a trip to The Hague on my own (I’ve not written about it yet but you can see a little video here!) Read I read five books this month: I found Kazuo Ishiguro’s ‘When we were Orphans’ really hard going, as the language and voice are so old fashioned, I tend to read this sort of book in winter when there are altogether less distractions (even writing that I realise how weird it sounds) but I persevered and it was a bit of an anticlimax too. I actually really enjoyed the Clinton/Patterson novel –…

Scrapbook Loves – June

Is June going so incredibly fast for anyone else, or just for me? It seems like Athena’s birthday on the 6th was ages ago and I keep expecting the date to be a lot closer to the end of the month than it has been! I think it’s because my mind is on a count down to summer already, equal parts excitement at getting to spend all day every day with my kids and terror at getting to spend all day every day with my kids. So on to this months ‘Little Loves’… Read This month I’ve read the following 5 books: Four of them were really good, Be Mine was just a bit meh, readable but I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend it! The Great Alone…

Scrapbook Loves – May

Little Loves are one of my favourite types posts to write, because I get to recap what I’ve been up to and hopefully gives readers a bit of an insight into me! I used to pop them into my ‘Sunday Scrapbook’ posts every so often, but will be doing them monthly from now on,  so hopefully they’ll be a bit more meaty! Read This month I’ve read the following 5 books We were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter was immense, definitely the favourite book so far this year, plus it’s free on Kindle Unlimited too, if you use that! I’m now read 19 of my target of 50 for the year Watched Okay so here’s a rundown of what I watched and what I thought of things over the…

Stuff on a Sunday – New Year, Panto & Dolls

My first Stuff on a Sunday roundup post of 2017! I’ve decided to join in with the ‘Little Loves’ linky as part of these posts too, and extra kick up the bum for attempting to get them up weekly! I’m cheating a little and going back an extra day for this post, to NYE. Sam was working a late shift so he took the kids out for a walk with some friends on the morning of the 31st so I could get some work done in peace, as I’d been struggling to even get my laptop open with both kids at home let alone do any work! However my brand spanking new camera arrived just as they were leaving so I actually just spent more time playing with that, whoops. In…
