Style: Festival Fashion for Mums

We are off to not one but TWO festivals this Summer, and I can’t wait! You’ll find us dancing around at Chilled in a Field festival for the first August Bank Holiday, and then we’ll be at The Big Feastival on the second bank holiday! I’m already planning what to pack and what to wear and feel like glitter needs to make an appearance! I’ve been scouring the internet (as it’s basically the only place I shop now) for things we can wear and there are loads of festival fashion savings at Groupon. This selection is from Pretty Little Thing, and I think they’re all things I can get away with, bearing in mind I’m in my 30’s and will have my children trailing after me, and a sequined bikini top and…

Date Night to see Hamilton the Musical!

Last Monday Sam and I spent our second ever night away from the kids together, we went to London to see Hamilton the Musical! It was something Sam had wanted to see for absolutely ages and we managed to get tickets right at the start of the year, and then a couple of weeks ago we realised that the date was for a Bank Holiday Monday and the trains were all messed up so to risk not being stranded somewhere we asked my mum to stay over and get the kids to school in the morning and booked ourselves a hotel! We had a leisurely dinner and cocktails sat outside on a sunny terrace before heading to the Theatre, looking pretty smart if I do say so myself! When I…

Style: WolkyShop Boots & a giveaway!

A couple of weeks ago I took a trip to the WolkyShop store in Brighton’s North Lane area. The shop is located in Bond Street and is full of amazing styles of super comfortable shoes and boots, for men and women. The shop is cosy but there is plenty of space to browse all the styles available and to sit and try on in comfort. I had been asked to pick out a pair of shoes or boots to see me through the winter and after being faced with a big decision as to which style to go for, I eventually chose the ‘Winchester’ style in this gorgeous forest green, with black piping. I’ve worn them with skirts, dresses and jeans and I think they go well with anything I…

Review: Trespass DLX Munros Winter Jacket

It’s blimming cold now, there’s no denying it. My attempts to venture out in just a thick jumper and scarf are leaving me miserable and shivering and winter is definitely here! But I’ve got a new coat to keep me toasty from Trespass, and I am wondering why I’ve never thought about having a longer length coat in recent years – it really makes a difference! I’m not a huge fan of jeans so mostly wear leggings or tights which means my legs get a bit chilly so an extra warm layer is much appreciated! The DLX Munros coat is padded with down and feather, is waterproof to 10,000mm and has reinforced seams so no wind gets in. I love that it is waterproof as my current raincoat is really…

Style: Capsule Wardrobe Top Inspiration

I’m still working my way towards a capsule wardrobe, and am spending lots of my spare time browsing online to find suitable pieces to include! I’m finding it quite hard though, as I need to have items for every eventuality that I really like as I’ll be wearing them on a small rotation for three months or more! The latest online store that’s grabbed my attention is Esprit, a store that I’ve very rarely visited in person or online before to be honest, as I thought it was more expensive than it is! For a capsule wardrobe it’s important to choose items that match with a lot of other items, so either similar or complimenting colours and probably nothing with too bold a pattern! I really love the muted…

Style: My Mum Uniform

I’ve spent a while honing my mum uniform, and though I want to edge towards more dresses at some point, but at the moment it’s a skinny jeans with a lot of stretch, a jumper and a pair of flip flops. However the temperatures are rapidly decreasing and especially at 8.15 in the morning it is a bit too chilly for my trusty flip flops! Thankfully I have new pair of boots from JD Williams that add a bit of fun to my often boring ‘uniform’ in the form of these leopard print beauties! They’re flat and comfy and come in a couple of different width fittings too. They’re also slip on which is a godsend when you’ve got a toddler under one arm, and book bag and water-bottle under…

Style: Yoga wear with Asquith

Now Athena is at school and Arlo with the childminder three days a week I am really hoping to carve out some time for myself  during the week. I’ve not done any proper exercise other than the odd swim or long woodland walk since Athena was born and shes now four! Having two kids in under two years has definitely changed my body as I didn’t really watch what I ate or look after myself at all. But now I want to change that! Realistically I know it would be a lot of hard work to get back to the size 10 I was on my wedding day at three months pregnant but its an end goal! At the moment I’m a 14 in most clothes, and although I know…
