My Makeup bag for a Weekend Away

A little while ago I was tagged by Joanne (she blogs at Opposable Thumbs) to share the contents of my makeup bag. Now this isn’t my everyday makeup bag but rather my ‘weekend away essentials’ though in fairness it this is what’s on my face most of the time, a lot of what is in my makeup collection at home doesn’t get much use! The makeup bag itself is one that I bought myself with a John Lewis voucher that my mum gave me for Christmas, and it was £14 and meant I could fling out the two old makeup bags that I’d been using in rotation for longer than I’d care to admit. Also this one is slightly padded and wipe clean on the outside, bonus! Here’s what I…

9 Tips for looking fabulous without make-up

We all know that make-up hides a multitude of sins. We can look good with a squeeze of foundation, a smattering of powder and a sweep of the bronzer. Pop on some mascara, some cute pink blusher and a bold lipstick, and most of us are ready to face the day. It’s a part of many women’s (and some men’s) daily routine. But don’t you just wish some days you didn’t have to bother? Wouldn’t it be great if you could look fabulous without the morning makeover? Well you’ll be pleased to read that it’s entirely possible. Follow our 9 steps and you’ll be able to ditch the make-up routine and look fabulous every single day without so much as a smidgeon of concealer.   A perfect smile One of our…

Beauty: Elizabeth Grant Hydra Cell Active from Ideal World TV

I’ve been using the Hydra Cell Active range from Elizabeth Grant  for almost four weeks now, and so far so good! My skin is on the dry side, but can get a little oily especially in warm weather. My previous skincare routine was to use a little facial oil every couple of days and moisturise in the evenings when I remembered. It was a little hard to remember to do the new products but they’re making a difference to my skin! I’ve been using the day serum after washing my face in the morning, and the night one at night (well, obviously) after I’ve taken my makeup off and cleansed my face (with a face wipe normally, I’m pretty lazy!) and then add a thin layer of the moisturiser. It’s…

Beauty: #LFSummerLovin Box

This months Look Fantastic Beauty Box is definitely my favourite so far, I said last month I wish there were more beauty/makeup products and low and behold there are! Three full sized products too this month, including a new release from Benefit! The #LFSummerLovin is the perfect companion now it looks like summer might actually be making an appearance!

Beauty: Look Fantastic #LFJetsetter box

This months Beauty Box from Look Fantastic is the #LFJetsetter box, and although it made me sad I’ve not got a holiday to look forward to (hello broken down car that needs a heck of a lot of work doing to it rapidly diminishing my holiday fund) it would be absolutely perfect for a long weekend away somewhere warm!

Mama loves: #LFHelloBeautiful box

I spend very little time (or money!) on my beauty routines since having children, it’s a far cry from having boxes and drawers full of lotions potions and makeup like I had pre-kids! However I still love to have a little pamper session when I can fit it in, and still care about looking after my skin and treating it right! I’ve not subscribed to any beauty boxes for about 5 years now but was given the chance to try the May box from Look Fantastic and was glad that I did! Not only did I get a pretty box full of beauty and hair care but I got a copy of Elle magazine before it hit the shops and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it in a warm bubble bath…

Banish bad bathroom bounty #MiraGiftmas

How many times have you made this face  when you really hoped to be making this face when you’ve opened up a gift of bath or beauty products from someone at Christmas? You know, those weird rice paper rose petals that are meant to do something to the bath but actually just stick in your lady-bits… or stuff that smells like grandmas? or worse, grandpas?  This year Mira Showers asked me if I wanted to attempt to end the era of crappy bath products and put together a wishlist of things I’d actually want to open up to make bath times even more enjoyable! First on the list is a shower radio. I have always wanted one, it would greatly reduce the risk of dropping my phone in the bath, or even…
