What the baby wore: Grey Crosses

I’m starting to put Arlo in ‘proper’ clothes a lot more, rather than just fancier sleep suits. Saying that though the weather is so hot that at the moment he’s often in a short romper or just a vest! This outfit is from a week or so age before the heatwave arrived. A grey wrap over vest from H&M conscious collection (so gorgeous and soft, and easy to put on) and Zara leggings with crosses on. These are generously cut round the bum so perfect for a cloth nappy baby! The cloud print bib is from Funky Giraffe bibs, and amazingly the socks are Athenas cast offs! Surprised I managed to keep a pair together for that long, they do have little hearts on them though but Arlo doesn’t mind…

Wanderlust: Cornwall

We’ve only been to Cornwall once for a holiday and it was about four weeks before I had Athena. Therefore my energy levels weren’t that high and there were a few things we chose not to do, although climbing all the steps up to the top of Tintagel Castle wasn’t one of them! The lady selling tickets even asked me not to go into labour up there or we’d need a helicopter to get off! We’d like to go back to cornwall with the children at some point, because there were so many attractions that they’d love! The Seal Sanctuary also had a petting zoo as well as the seals, otters and penguins so would be perfect! The Eden Project was somewhere we didn’t visit but friends we were with did…

Planes and boats with the iCandy Raspberry

Athena loves planes. Sam loves planes, possibly because his dad was a pilot. His sister works with private jets too so it seems to be in the blood! We decided to give Athena a treat last week and take her to see the planes at Shoreham Airport, although it’s actually Brighton and Hove city airport these days! We took a stroll along Adur River path first to ogle at the house boats! A few of the houseboats are fairly standard looking but the vast majority of them were originally something completely different! Planes, war ships, caravans… they all make an appearance! It was a really warm day so we thought we’d give Arlo his first buggy experience out of a carry cot in the Icandy Raspberry! Because it lays flat…

Sleep Pod sun shade from Cheeky Rascals

Unless you’ve been living under a rock recently you may be aware we’re in the middle of a heatwave! As someone who carries Arlo in a sling 90% of the time this has meant that we both get sticky and I get paranoid about him getting sunburnt! So this week he’s spent more time in the buggy than ever before I think! Thankfully whichever direction we walk in and however hot it is I’ve been able to keep him cool and shaded by using the Sleep Pod made by Outlook from Cheeky Rascals. It cleverly has a few functions and we’ve used them all now so I feel I can do a proper review! Firstly it works amazingly to completely block out the light, well 94% which is good enough…

#WhatmyKidDid and Arlo at 3 months

Welcome to #WhatMyKidDid for July! First, an Arlo update.  Arlo is now three months old! Seriously insane, in some ways it feels like he only arrived last week and other times it’s like he’s always been here! Size: Chunky Monkey! I’m not sure exactly how much he weighs but he’s definitely gaining weight so that’s the main thing! Its weigh in day today actually so I may well go down and then add it in later, I do so love putting the dots on the charts in the red book! [edit: 15lb 6oz at 13 weeks] He’s firmly in size 3-6 month clothes and has been for a couple of weeks now! Lots of thigh and arm rolls, and I have to clean his neck rolls with a baby wipe every…

Interiors: We are Scamp

A couple of weeks ago Athena and Arlo received a lovely gift in the post each from the fantastic We Are Scamp! A company developed by two sisters to create wonderful, quirky and cute bits and bobs for children, all personalised and all stylish! You can also get more adult things, like gifts for teachers and adults too, even wedding favours! Arlo was lucky enough to get a hanging mobile, which hangs just below the rainbow on our nursery wall so he can see it during nappy changes and when we get him dressed in the morning! I love the sentiment behind the words too, it’s never too young to start to dream of big things! Athenas plaque hangs in the window so she sees it first thing in the…
