Welcome to Share Your Year for 2017! Every year I host it as a way for people to share the past year, posts in any format are welcome as long as it includes a recap of your 2017 in some way. It could be personal memories, blogging related, or anything else! It could be a what you read, listened to or watched, or even the favourite things you cooked! I split my year into quarters and summarise what we got up to. I love to look back at my previous years and this is my seventh recap and every year when I’m writing my posts I go back and read the previous years for a bit of a jaunt down memory lane! It’s so crazy to think that when I…

My 2014 & Share your year Linky

I love writing an end of year round up, and as I’ve recorded the year on my blog it’s much easier to do than if I had to rely on my memory alone! Last year I set up a linky for anyone else doing a round up to add to, basically so I (and everyone else!) could have a nosey at other peoples years. The link up is at the end of the post, please do share this post on twitter etc if you see anyone else has done a round up of their year! You can read my recaps of 2011 (being a bridesmaid, being proposed to) 2012 (marriage, holidays to Germany and Egypt) and 2013 (Moving, having a baby…) should you feel so inclined So, onto 2014! January…

Freelancing a year on, the good and the bad!

It’s been almost a year since I left company employment to concentrate on freelancing as my only income source, and I’ve got to say much as there are so many aspects of working from home I adore, but there are a few that I don’t! working environment Working from home means mainly working from the sofa for me, I do have a desk but it’s in the coldest room in the house, so in winter especially I tend to avoid it! I am way comfier on the sofa, blanket over my legs and laptop on the little wooden lap-tray! My desk has most of what I need but there is the odd occasion that I’d love access to a stationery cupboard, or swively chair or different coloured paper without having…

#SagaHomeImprovements – Increasing the value of your home

At the end of next week we will have been in our home a whole year! That’s a whole year of mortgage repayments and being a responsible adult! We’ve started to make improvements to it already, and want to do lots more before we’re ready to sell. What we’ve done so far to improve our home: Kitchen: Ripped up the lino in the kitchen and replaced it with gorgeous printed vinyl tiles, as well as moving some cupboards around to fit a dishwasher in, and then replacing the cooker and counter tops…
