Sam Loves: Bolle Goggles from Sunglasses Shop

bolle ski goggles review

Sam has been to the world’s biggest indoor ski sports centre in Landgraaf, Holland for a weekend a couple of times now in preparation for our snowy holiday in January. He’ll be doing a lot of snowboarding and I’ll be doing a lot of sledging with the kids probably!

On his last trip sunglasses-shop.co.uk sent him a snazzy new pair of Bolle Emperor Goggles to take to the slopes with. Now those of you that have never met Sam in real life may not realise that he has a pretty big head, I’m talking circumference here rather than the other sort of big-headedness but he sometimes has that too!

Over to Sam: I chose these Bolle Goggles specifically because of the large lens shape so I could see as much as a possible without distraction, and was impressed with the length of the elasticated strap too (big head big helmet) as it fitted with enough give to still be comfortable, a problem I’ve experienced with other brands. There is a rubber strip  inside the strap to help grip the goggles in place, and as you can see there is plenty of ventilation and sturdy padding for maximum comfort.

When ordering I had a choice of lens colour and went for the ‘Green emerald’ and found that they reduced glare and gave a sharp view. I liked the frame design too and I went with a black frame patterned with blue and green waves to contrast with my plain black helmet. The foam padding was light, comfortable and sturdy. UV400 lenses mean that when I hit the slopes in January I know I’ll be protected. A years warranty also gave me peace of mind too in case anything were to happen to them!
