Style: Star Print Nursing Dress

I’m always on the look out for nursing dresses that are flattering for when you’re no longer pregnant and therefore don’t have to fit a huge bump in something, or at least things that don’t look strange when there is no huge bump present! It’s almost as if people aren’t expected to breastfeed longer than the few weeks it can take to lose the pregnancy belly! Although I’m three months down the line and could still be confused for someone around four months pregnant, really should cut down on the biscuits and do some sit ups! Oh well…

This dress is from Happy Mum London, and its perfect for this time of year, but I’d be happy to wear it with tights and boots in the winter too! Made from 95% cotton it’s nice and cool in warm weather, but with 5% elastane so it has some stretch, for comfort. It is actually suitable for wearing in pregnancy, but looks perfectly normal without a bump as you can see! A tiny star print all over and a contrasting neckline make this a dress you could dress up or down, and it even has pockets! I LOVE things with pockets, it means I can have my phone on me at all times, which often comes in handy when you’re stuck with a long feeding session!

Boob access is gained by two tiny hidden zips, I wore this out for dinner with friends last weekend and one friend said she was confused as to how I was feeding Arlo and didn’t realise the zips were there till I showed her, so definitely discreet and looks nothing like a traditional wrap over or lift up flap type dress!

Happy Mum London sell all sorts of maternity and nursing clothes, including a new wedding range and sportswear too! I reviewed another lovely dress from them back in January for my birthday too, and have worn that several times since (as it is breastfeeding friendly too!) and it’s still good as new after all those washes! I genuinely can’t find fault with either them! There is a size guide on the website to help you decide what size to go for too.

I was able to choose a dress to review, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

That looks like the perfect dress for breastfeeding and I love the star print – I’m a big pocket fan too! x

This dress looks lovely! The zips are so clever, I’m not a huge fan of tops/dresses with the hidden slits as I always think it would be easy to flash a boob when leaning over or when an enthusiastic toddler is pulling on your clothes!
