Someone in this house is on a health kick. It isn’t me though in a few weeks I’ve promised to join Sam on his healthy eating quest (once I’m getting a bit more sleep and don’t need to be consuming large quantities of digestive biscuits to keep me going!) We’ve been putting this 3-in-1 Smoothie, Milkshake & Cocktail Maker from The Hut through its paces for a couple of weeks now, trying out various recipes… Some healthier than others depending on who is doing the mixing!
The Smoothie Maker is incredibly easy to use, you pop your ingredients in one of the beakers, screw the blade attachment on top then turn it over and press it into the blender. You then twist it to engage the blades and hold it there till your smoothie/milkshake reaches the desired consistency. One of the beakers is insulated so if it spends the night in the freezer it will keep your smoothie chilled till lunchtime so perfect for yoghurt based drinks, and you can of course use it for cocktails too! There are a few recipe suggestions included in the box but we much prefer to experiment!
Soya Vanilla yoghurt with Strawberries & Raspberries
I absolutely love the retro design, the lovely bright red and silver design means I’m happy not to keep it stuck in a cupboard when not in use, and it doesn’t take up too much counter space like many of its counterparts would!
Cleaning is easy, a quick rinse under the tap for the blade and let it dry, and hand wash the beakers (sadly not dishwasher proof which is my only bugbear!)
Ben & Jerry’s with milk & Cocoa powder
The Retro smoothie maker is normally £26.99 but next week will be on offer for £18.99, even better! If you fancy trying out any of the recipes (healthy or otherwise!) then get entering to win one for yourself!
The Hut sent me a smoothie maker to review, and are supplying the prize. All opinions my own.
