Review: Bravado sweetpea nursing bra

I’ve been cycling the same four nursing bras in the fourteen months I’ve been breastfeeding, but for the last few weeks I’ve been wearing a new nursing bra from Bravado. Bravado isn’t a brand I’d tried before but would definitely look at their range in the future after trying this one.

The Sweet Pea nursing bra is made of super soft cotton jersey material and has a really elastic band with plenty of hooks to accommodate a growing (then shrinking hopefully!) ribcage during pregnancy and post-birth. The cups unclip easily and fold down for easy feeding, and is non padded or wired. A non underwired nursing bra that I bought from H&M bizarrely had boning in the side seams, so it made it so uncomfortable to wear, this is a dream in comparison and I’ll admit to wearing it on it’s own round the house on really hot days! It would be the perfect bra for those first few days when your milk comes in as the cups are so stretchy they’d easily accommodate engorged boobs and breast pads with ease, then onwards through your breastfeeding journey.

It’s so comfortable that it could easily be worn overnight too when needed to keep the breast pads in place, and give you a bit of extra support! I was sent the ‘pink lemonade’ shade but it also comes in black. Bravado sell a wide range of different styles and products, including some lacy/underwired ranges for those of us who miss the extra support and prettiness! There are also a couple of nursing vest tops in the range too.

I’ve now popped this bra through a couple of washes, there is no loss of stretch and no bobbling, so nothing to complain about!

A bit about bravado…

For those of you who haven’t heard of Bravado, they are a UK based, award-winning brand recommended by healthcare professionals and worn by celebrity mums including Beyoncé, Penelope Cruz, Drew Barrymore and Angelina Jolie. Bravado came about, as most good businesses do, around a kitchen table! Over 20 years ago, two mums with a piece of leopard print fabric and lots of vision were determined to design and produce the perfect maternity and nursing bra. And boy did they do just that.

Bravado really understand what women need and want from their bras and not only do they listen to their customers (they invest in a lot of test-wearing by expectant and nursing women in all shapes and sizes), they also take expert advice from Lactation Consultants to ensure they are also top notch functionality wise.

I was sent a bra for the purpose of this review, all opinions are my own.
